Yerwal Estate Simmentals was founded by Regan’s grandfather Merv Lawrey in 1972 and is a family-owned Simmental Stud proudly backed by over 50 years of proven breeding. The female herd was predominately based on breeding traditional Simmentals and in later years introduced Black and Red Simmentals to the program as the breed progressed; with some of the first imports of embryos from herds such as Lewis Farms. We work extensively with Embryologist Gary Sivesind, Genesis Embryo Services and flush our leading and most proven cow families and currently implant 60 plus Simmental embryos a year.
Regan and Concetta (Connie), along with their children Mitchell, Lacey and Lawson, are passionate cattle breeders with both studs offering our clientele a hub to purchase all their needs in one location.
Our Simmentals are predominately sold in Queensland along with a selection of our Angus and Sim Angus bulls. We believe in breeding sound and functional cattle for our clients. We actively seek out new genetics and have travelled overseas to see these genetics in the flesh prior to using them in our program. We aim to find cattle that aren’t from show prepared/focused operations as we like to see the cattle perform in a commercial setting so we can select the best performing sires that can tick all the boxes in both stud and commercial focused traits. We believe that these cattle are proven and tested in more realistic conditions to suit our own herd and for our clientele that are predominately based north.
We value our clients and back our bulls. All bulls sold throughout Australia through various sale outlets or privately come fully guaranteed and vaccinated accordingly to their environmental requirements.

Queensland Simmental Bull Sale Monday 28th July CQLX, Gracemere
We annually offer our Simmental bulls for sale at two major outlets in Queensland; Elders Ag-grow Elite Bull Sale and the Queensland Simmental Bull Sale. Alongside this we have paddock bulls available year-round. Our on farm bull sale held annually in February is predominately Angus with a selection of Black Simmentals and Sim-Angus to suit our southern clientele.
